More Christmas Shopping Fun coming soon!

I’ve tried lots of different kinds of hair styling products that either where too expensive or didn’t work the way I wanted them to work.  I’ve got really curly hair that can get somewhat pissed off when I try to control it.  Where is the fun in curly hair if you can’t make it play pretty?  Most L’Oreal products are a little difficult to understand, especially when they are for combination hair.

Oops, did I mention the combination hair thing?

Ok, so my curly hair is long, and with most long haired curly hair girlies, one condition at the root and one condition at the ends.  Sometimes it mulitple conditions at the ends.  But conditioning is not the problem here, I’m trying to style.

One of the problems I have with styling is longevity.  In all honesty, a good styling gel or mouse will look and feel AWESOME for a few hours, but make that few hours turn into 5 or 10, then you’ve got problems.

Look, I can go out and ask again and again, from different sources, what to use, and have gotten some great ideas.  Most of those ideas turned out to be the 2 hour fix.  Until one day I’m talking to my bff whose sister is somewhat of a model (car shows, videos, etc) and she tells me that her sister usually comments about how well this one particular stylist gets her hair perfect for long shoots.

Well, ring a ding ding and mister BAMF hair stylist Joel DeFranco tells me what product he particularly likes for longevity.  REDKEN!

Redken was first developed for model use, kind of like Kerastase, but all US of A.

He tells me to look up a particularly gentle gel that should be easy to use befor I try something more hardcore, so I try Redken Rewind Styling Paste.

After a week of trying the product, I’m impressed.  Using it style my hair either “freestyle” (wetting and forgetting) or with a blow dryer really produced a soft look that lasted a long time.  Very liitle buildup, and not sticky at all.

So the chichi recommends.

Hubby gave me this beautiful Shit Zu puppy, all white and black and rambunctious, that we’ve called  Maxine.  As soon as I can get some pix up I will.  She is the cutest little thing and very much a prissy girl like here momma.  Total diva in training.  So I decided to do that diligent mommy thing and find her the very best diva doggy stuff I can find.  Let me tell you, I think I’m having as much fun shopping for this little girl as I would shopping for myself.  Anywho, off to PetSmart I go.  There are a ton of really great stuff there, but I decide that maybe I want to do a little more shopping online.  Lo and behold, your shopping diva finds great pet supplies at ProperPet.  What a great selection!  Easy to navigate and really fast!

Puppy Collars

(check out the sounds it makes)

I particularly love the selection of puppy collars and these beautiful plush toys like the play along puppets from digger.  A really fantastic selection at a great price.

Well chickas, the rumblepup will just love this little spat of spending.   I’m off to do more doggy shopping.

So you guys know that the chichi is all about all thing beauteous, including my favorite beauty products and beauty supplies, but one of my favorite places on the web to look at things we don’t ever think about until it’s too late has come to mind lately. Our backyard has certainly developed over that past year, and I’ve always wanted a kind of Eastern, Moroccan, Indian mix to get away from everything.

Well, a little San Tropez thrown in as well.

So one of the things I noticed that was missing was an awesome patio umbrella. I mean, you just don’t think about it until it comes up. I’ve know about Cushions And Umbrellas for some time, really loving the outdoor fabrics, and I’ve even put them in my favorites link. Now I’m really taking a look at their offerings, and I’m truly astounded.

They feature things like Dual Wind Vents, when everybody else sells dinky Single Wind Vents. What’s a Wind Vent? Well, it’s the opening at the top of the umbrella where wind and heat pass through, so your umbrella doesn’t fly off, or become an oven under the sun. Nobody else sells that. And cushions! They feature fantastic sunbrella cushions in wonderful colors that help you create any kind of outdoor look you want. What’s Sunbrella? Well, Sunbrella fabric is a 100% solution dyed acrylic which is perfect for outdoor and marine use. It’s soft to the touch and water resistant. Really water resistant. I recently spilled a little of water on a friends cushion, and it just beaded and rolled off. Yeeeee! (Thank God, almost had to run out of her house because of the embarrassment) How do I know all this? Well, for one thing, the site is full of fantastic information, and you really get a sense that they love what they do.

Why do I keep asking these third person questions? Because it’s fun.

Shopping there makes me happy. Take your time though. From what I understand, there overhauling their inventory within even more beauteous things, so shop, find out what you want, and when your ready, buy it up chicas!
